Whitbarrow Scar

Whitbarrow Scar On A Clear Day

Whitbarrow Scar On A Clear Day:

As you travel towards Grange-over-Sands along the A590, you pass an impressive rock face on the right.

Just past the Gilpin Bridge Inn on the right, you will see Whitbarrow Scar.

Whitbarrow, standing at 707ft (215 meters), means White Hill, it has been designated a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest.

From the top, you will get magnificent views in all directions.

Although the walk has some steep paths, the walk isn’t difficult and the views from the summit are well worth the trouble.

It is safe to park your car at Mill Side near Witherslack on the old A590 road.

You can comfortably reach the summit and back in a couple of hours.
