Kents Bank, Grange-over- Sands made the national news this week as bones have been discovered in a cave near Kirkhead.
The bones have been dated as human and over 10,000 years old.
The fragment of leg bone measuring about 6”, long has been carbon dated by scientists from Liverpool’s John Moores University.
The results have proved that they are the oldest known remains of a northerner.
The cave is quite difficult to find but if any of our guests would like to visit it please let me know and we will arrange to take you there.
