Fox’s Pulpit- Howgills

If you are interested in the Quakers, Firbank Fell is well worth a visit.

On this remote fell side is a place of pilgrimage for Quakers, known as Fox’s Pulpit.

Here, in 1652, fresh from his vision on Pendle Hill, George Fox addressed a multitude of up to a 1000 followers.

Subsequently, thus began the Quaker movement known as ‘The Society of Friends’.

Firbank Fell is in the Howgills near Sedbergh which is about 40 minutes from Lothlorien by car.
