Crossing The Bay:
Lothlorien is an ideal holiday base for anyone taking part in a Morecambe Bay cross-bay walk.
The end point is usually on the foreshore by the side of Kents Bank station.
To get to the start point, it is easy to catch the train to Arnside where you meet the Queen’s Guide to the Sands – Cedric Robinson.
Before the arrival of the railway this walk was the main route to and from Furness.
You are advised that you will cross a couple of rivers on the walk so be prepared for some cold water.
Depending on the depth of the rivers it can be up to your waist.
Again, you are better walking bare foot rather than in boots or wellies.
The walk can take around 3 hours.
