The society was founded in 1872.
Traditionally, Cartmel Show takes place on the first Wednesday in August.
This year, the 131st Cartmel Show, saw hundreds of competitors turn out on the racecourse on a very mixed day for weather.
Heavy downpours and sunshine were the order of the day.
The weather hasn’t been kind this year to farmers or horticulturalists, but the show’s loyal supporters still arrive with their exhibits.
Organisers have revealed an increase in the number of competitors this year.
In particular, the sheep section enjoying huge numbers of entries.
The show is put on with dedicated volunteers, and, with the increased number of entries made, the whole day a great success.
