Abbot Hall is a Grade I listed Georgian villa situated on the banks of the River Kent.

The gallery is one of the country’s leading independent art galleries.

It is well known for showing an ambitious programme of temporary exhibitions by internationally renowned artists.

Such artists include Rembrandt, Canaletto and David Hockney to name a few,

Furthermore, there are two floors of light filled spaces, where you can see a permanent collection of George Romney spanning his entire career.

The upstairs galleries have commanding views of the River Kent and Kendal Castle.

Additionally,  the site houses the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry as well as the Abbott Hall café.
