For ramblers and fell walkers, this property is an ideal self-catering, walker friendly holiday home, with Coniston Old Man, High Street and the Langdale Pikes being less than an hour away by car. For anyone not wanting to use their car, regular bus and train services are available from Kents Bank station.
If cycling is your preferred mode of transport, Lothlorien is situated on the eighty one mile Bay Cycle Way running from Walney Island to Glasson Dock.
The area is blessed with quality restaurants, pubs and cafes in nearby Grange, Allithwaite and Cartmel catering for all tastes. For anyone interested in fine dining, the award winning L’Enclume restaurant is nearby in Cartmel.
We have lived and worked in the Grange-over-Sands area for the last 40 years and have enjoyed every second of my time here. Living less than 5 minutes away from the property, my wife and I are able to personally welcome guests on arrival, ensuring they are settled in before leaving them to enjoy their stay. We have been delighted to welcome guests to Lothlorien for over 8 years, making many friends along the way. We are completely dedicated to offering all our guests lovely, clean accommodation in beautiful surroundings, ensuring they get the most from their stay in this most beautiful part of the country.
Lothlorien is situated in Priory Lane, Kents Bank from where you can enjoy views across Morecambe Bay to Blackpool and beyond. This bungalow property has extensive, well maintained, gardens with a summer house and patio where you can relax and enjoy your well-earned break. On the level ground floor you will find a spacious living room with views over the bay, kitchen with dining area, 2 bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. A new bathroom suite has recently been installed with a walk in shower cubicle, bath and toilet.
We recently extended and upgraded the kitchen area with a new fitted kitchen units, brand new appliances and energy efficient lighting. The dining area is now situated in the kitchen.
There is ample parking space for 2 cars.
Lothlorien is very near to Kents Bank railway station on the Lancaster to Barrow line. For anyone arriving by rail, there is a 5 minute walk to the property.
Picturesque countryside, quiet lanes and beautiful scenery makes this Grange Over Sands holiday let an ideal base for exploring. If cycling is your thing this is the place, from short local rides, (ideal for families), to longer more challenging rides into the Lake District National Park can be easily be reached from here.
For mountain bikers wanting off-road adventure, there are a number of bridleways and byways in the area. By far the best mountain biking can be found in and around Grizedale Forest where the North Face Trail is a purpose built single track to challenge the fittest of biker. There are also numerous challenging bridleways and tracks to the East and West of Coniston.

For walkers, the Lakeland fells are within easy reach or if you prefer more gentle country walks the whole area is available through marked paths and bridleways.
The whole Morecambe Bay area is perfect for ornithologists, where you can observe all kinds of waders, duck, geese and waterbirds generally.
Food lovers are well catered for too, with a number of good restaurants and pubs serving food locally. There is a dog friendly pub within a mile of the property.

Buses stop at Kents Bank railway station. You can catch buses to Kendal and Barrow plus a local service taking in Grange, Cartmel and Flookburgh.
Grange-Over-Sands is just 20 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6 motorway. From Junction 36, follow the A590 Kendal to Barrow road and turn off at the Lindale exit. Follow the B5277 through Grange and on past the Cartmel Grange residential home on the right. In 1/2 mile, turn left into Kirkhead Road. Follow Kirkhead Road for a further 1/2 mile and turn left into Priory Lane.
Kents Bank railway station is less than 5 minutes walk away from Lothlorien. The station is on the Furness line, where regular trains stop to take passengers east towards Lancaster and Preston and west towards Barrow and the Cumbrian coast and on to Carlisle.
