If cycling is your thing this is the place, from short local rides, (ideal for families), to longer more challenging rides into the Lake District National Park can be easily be reached from here.


For mountain bikers wanting  off-road adventure, there are a number of bridleways and byways in the area. By far the best mountain biking can be found in and around Grizedale Forest where the North Face Trail is a purpose built single track to challenge the fittest of biker. There are also numerous challenging bridleways and tracks to the East and West of Coniston.


Here at Lothlorien, we offer cyclists free secure storage during your stay.


For walkers, the Lakeland fells are within easy reach or if you prefer more gentle country walks the whole area is available through marked paths and bridleways.


Newspapers and provisions are available from the local post office and general store which is situated in nearby Allithwaite.


There is a pub serving food within 1 mile of the property.
